Tribute to Russell Carroll by Mike Woods ('86), WCA Administrator to WCA Staff 1/25/10

Servant-hood
Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. John 13:5
Last week we completed a look at the five core values of Wake Christian Academy. Due to the home going of Mr. Russell Carroll, I would like to revisit the final value of servant-hood. Mr. Carroll was truly a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He served the school as a board member for almost 40 years. During his life he consistently gave of his time, talents and treasures. Countless times he would see a need and step forward to meet the need. He did not like to be recognized for any gift, and would specifically ask that his gifts be without public acknowledgement. In 2005, the school board chose to publicly honor him for a lifetime of service by rededicating the newly renovated C building in his name. It was an honor that he did not want, but truly deserved. On January 24, 2010, Mr. Carroll’s service on this earth was completed and God called him home. We will miss his Godly wisdom and generosity. He was a servant and an example to each of us. On behalf of those he touched, I would like to say, “Thank you, Mr. Carroll!”
