About Me
My name is Virginia "Ginny" Williams, but ya'll get to call me Miss. Williams! I am a local, born and raised in Fuquay-Varina, NC. I attended WCA from 4th - 12th grade and loved every second! While at WCA I was very involved in sports (vollegyball, basketball, and soccer), chorale, and handbells. Also, very proud to be a part of the first WCA girls soccer State Champion soccer team! We were 3-peat champs while I was on the team... and yes, I am very proud haha! After graduating from WCA in '02, I attended Campbell University (GO CAMELS!), majoring in Athletic Training and minoring in Psychology. Absolutely loved my 4 years at CU and am a die hard CAMEL fan! In August of '06, I began working in Fayetteville, NC at a physical therapy clinic, Advanced Physical Therapy Solutions. Working as a physical therapy aid and athletic trainer adjunct to Douglas Byrd High School, I was able to get lots and lots of experience, however, wanted to continue my educational career. Therefore, I applied to NCSU and was accepted into their Adult and Community College Education Masters Program. My degree here will be a Masters of Adult and Community College Education with an emphasis in Health Occupations. I SHOULD be done with this degree in May, '09. So yes, I am a student, as well as a teacher... I feel your pain! Anyways, this Masters program is what brought me back to the Raleigh area. Knowing I would again be near my hometown, I looked into coming back to WCA to begin an athletic training program, as I knew Wake had no such thing... yet! Praise the Lord they were interested, and here I am... in my second year teaching at WCA and loving every second! Last year, I focused mainly on athletic training duties and managing Middle School study halls. However, I am sooo excited to be teaching this class for the high school this year! Love middle schoolers... but VERY excited to get to work with high school students!
Interesting Facts: Die Hard DUKE BASKETBALL FAN, love the beach, coach MS Girls Basketball, hot pink is my absolute favorite color, love REESES Peanut Butter Cups, my mom also teaches here at WCA (Mrs. Williams the senior/junior sponsor)... but Coach Williams is NOT related to me!, Mr. Helder was also MY soccer coach, I also teach Girls WT Training, Psalm 23 is my fav scripture passage
