Those who are Serving in the military:

Ivey (Watkins, 1984) Palmer and her husband Brian live in Alaska with their two sons. Brian is a chaplain in the army. (http://www12.a2hosting.com/)

Jim Hardee (1984) lives in Okinawa, Japan, where he works on Torii Station as the HR Clerk in Military Personnel Division. Jim is a contractor with the Army. He instructs tactics to the soldiers who are being deployed. Jim is now a SSG in the reserves after having served14 years in active duty. (Updated 6/08) 

Vance Bowden (1985), his wife, Robyn,  and their two children live in Benson, NC. Vance has been a member of the National Guard for 23 years and has served one tour in Iraq. He is currently a Sergeant First Class in NC National Guard's 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, and is mobilized for an upcoming deployment to Iraq. (Updated 2/26/09)

Tom Updegraff (1986) has served in the Army reserves since joining the Army ROTC in college in 1986. He is a major and has seen active duty. His last duty was at the Pentagon. He has been serving in Iraq as a Major in the National Guard since May '08.

Michael Hinsley (1992) served in the U.S. Navy and is now back in the Navy Reserves. (updated 5/10) 

Daniel Hinsley (1999) is in the US Air Force, and will be deployed to Afghanistan again at the end of 8/07. (http://www12.a2hosting.com/)

Wayne Knowles (1999) lives in Belle Chasse, LA. He is in the Navy.

Bryan Matthews (2000) is in the Navy. He is currently stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, will be transferred to Chicago in December (updated 9/07)

 Crystal (Wolfe, 2001) Cox and her husband are stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, where her husband is serving our country in the Marines.

Jonathan Godwin (2001) is a 1st Lieutenant with the N.C. Army National Guard. He is a Military Police Officer.

Josh Godwin (2001) is in the Air Force.

Anastasia (Kovarik, 2002) Hancock is a serving in the Middle East with a Red Horse engineering unit.  She is now a 1st LT.   (updated 10/09)

Zack Otto (2003) is in the Army Reserves.

Brandon Watkins (2003) has enlisted in the Military. He leaves June 24, 2010 for bootcamp in Great Lakes, Ill. Afterwards he will be going to canidate school for air crew in the Navy. (updated 5/10) 

Ben Carroll (2004) is an Army Ranger serving in Iraq.

Zachariah Kovarik (2004) graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in May 2008 with a BA degree in Arabic, and on Oct 1, 2008 was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the US Air Force. He will be working in the field of Intelligence and his first assignment will be at Goodfellow AFB TX for 6 mos of Intel training. He enters full active duty on Nov 29, 2008 and will depart for TX on that day. (updated 11/08)

Ariel Harvey (2005) is a junior and a MS3 in the Army ROTC parlance at Appalachian State University. He went to Fort Benning this past summer and completed the Basic Airborne course and is now a Paratrooper.  He is maintaining a 3.72 gpa, and made both the Dean's and Chancellors list last year.  Ariel tied for the top gpa overall amongst the ROTC cadets at App.  He is a history major, and is now talking about how cool it would be to teach at West Point someday. Taylor Upchurch (2005) is now serving in the US Army. (updated 5/10)

Patrick Nichols (2006) recently joined the Army National Guard Reserves. He will be going in as a mechanic. (Updated 09/29/09)

Aaron Allgood (2007) is in the Army at Ft. Jackson, SC. He has completed basic training and is now in Avanced Infantry Training. (Updated 8/07)

Johnny Anthony (2008) is in the Army at Ft. Jackson, SC. He has completed basic training and is now in Avanced Infantry Training. (Updated 8/08)

John Whitaker (1978) served in the U.S. Army in the following areas: FT Huachuca, AZ, Germany, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, FT Campbell, KY, FT Bliss, TX, and FT. Hood, TX.

Elsie Ryals (1981) served in the U.S. Navy.

Scott Ross (1982) served in the U.S. Marines.

Steve Moody (1983) served in the U.S. Marines.

Philip Bell (1993) served in the U.S. Army from 1996-1999, stationed at Fort Hood, TX and at Camp Gary Owen, Korea.
