I am WCA

We couldn’t be more excited to launch the first phase of our new multi-media marketing campaign, “I am Wake Christian Academy!” There are so many groups that make up the Wake Christian community – our wonderful students and their families, our dedicated faculty and staff, our generous sponsors and corporate partners, and our faithful alumni, who, no matter how far away life takes them, will always be part of our Bulldog family.

We thought and prayed about how to best share the heart of our school with the community; to demonstrate what sets us apart, and how we’re impacting the world for Christ. We began with a list of character traits, straight from God’s Word, that remind us who we are, and what we want others to see in us. With the help of WCA Senior Austin Kay, and his amazing vision and talent, we are thrilled to share with you our new video. This is the first phase of our “I am” campaign, and will be followed in the coming weeks by excerpts of interviews with students nominated by their teachers for consistently demonstrating the Christian characteristics that exemplify our school.

You’ll meet students from all three schools – elementary, middle and high school. Some are athletes, some are artists, some have been part of the WCA family since they started school, and others have joined our community in recent years and can attest to the difference Wake Christian has made in their lives. Once you meet them, you’ll see a little bit of yourself in all of them, for we are all full of potential, capable, of great worth, made in His image, chosen, forgiven, redeemed, fearfully and wonderfully made, children of God, blessed, never alone, loved… We are all His, bought at a great price, and together, “We are Wake Christian Academy.”

About Austin Kay

WCA Senior Austin Kay is the creator and owner of Heart Pounding Productions, a Christian Movie/Music Production Company established in 2008. Austin also acts as Director, Cinematographer, Video Editor, and Photographer for the company, and creates short film sketches, music videos, and film productions for Cary Church of God. Austin, who has attended WCA since kindergarten, began playing around with video cameras and making short videos when he was in the sixth grade. He is mostly self-taught, but has taken several online classes for his craft. Upon graduating from WCA, Austin plans to attend Full Sail University, in Winter Park, Florida. He dreams of becoming a Film Producer, Director, and Editor. In addition to making films, Austin plays the piano and composes his own music. His company also produces assembly and demonstration films for “Audio Artistry” and “Toddler Tables.” The goal of Heart Pounding Productions is “to commit all that we are to God, and to bring honor and glory to His name.” Fellow WCA Senior Rusty Martin, Jr. assisted with the filming of this video, and Austin composed the background music. Austin cites his favorite verses as everything from Genesis 1 to Revelation 11.
