At Wake Christian Academy, one of the premier Christian schools in Raleigh, N.C., our athletics program provides students an opportunity to practice the principles of God’s Word: working together as members of the body of Christ, self-discipline through obedience and sportsmanship, and the pursuit of the well-played game.
Athletic Opportunities
Athletic competition also offers students an arena for the demonstration of their faith in Jesus Christ and opens many doors for active ministry. Wake Christian Academy competes in the the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA). The prevailing attitude among all those connected with our sports program is to make Christ known and seen through our lives.
Wake Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., offers multiple athletic opportunities, including baseball, softball, football, volleyball, soccer, tennis, basketball, golf, cross country and track and field. Our coaches are Christ-followers who make the most of every opportunity to disciple the students on an off the field and encourage students to play at the highest level possible. Through discipline and commitment, many of our students go on to play their chosen sport in college.
Additionally, because we are committed to your child’s health and safety, as part of our comprehensive athletic program, our head athletic trainer is available to help your student work through an injury or correct improper technique. She can also offer insight into proper nutrition and concussion prevention.
Conference Affiliation
Middle School
For all of our middle school sports teams, WCA is a member of the Capital Area Middle School Conference (CAMSC). The CAMSC is comprised of the following schools: Cary Academy, Cary Christian School, Franklin Academy, Grace Christian School, Magellan Charter School, North Raleigh Christian Academy, St. David’s School, St. Timothy’s School, Trinity Academy of Raleigh, and Wake Christian Academy.
High School
On the state level, all of our high school sports teams participate in athletics under the governance of the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA). The NCISAA is comprised of 90-plus schools from all over the state of North Carolina. For more information about the NCISAA, please visit www.ncisaa.org.
On the local level, all of our high school sports teams (except Varsity football and wrestling) participate in the Capital City Conference (CCC). The CCC is comprised of the following schools: Grace Christian School, Cary Christian Academy, St. David’s School, Trinity Academy of Raleigh, Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill and Wake Christian Academy. For Varsity wrestling, WCA is a member of the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference (TISAC). For Varsity football, WCA is a member of the Big East (8 Man) Conference.
