Our instrumental music program provides students with diverse opportunities to explore and master a wide variety of instruments from elementary through high school. Whether through strings, band, handbells, or jazz ensembles, students develop technical skills, musicianship, and teamwork while using their God-given talents to serve and glorify Him. From introductory music theory to award-winning marching band competitions, every student finds their place to grow and excel in our supportive musical community.
Instrumental Opportunities
Elementary
Introduction to music education begins in the early years, with weekly music classes where students begin to learn fundamental music theory. In fourth and fifth grades, students have the opportunity to participate in Chorus, Strings or Band. It’s a joy to experience the excitement as our young students discover new instruments and learn to perform as part of a group.
Middle School Classes & Extracurricular Opportunities
Middle school students can explore their musical interests through a diverse array of instrumental ensembles that meet every other day as fine arts electives. From the foundational Concert Band and Strings Orchestra to specialized groups like Handbells and our award-winning Marching Band, students have multiple pathways to develop their instrumental skills. These programs not only provide excellent performance opportunities at concerts and competitions but also allow students to discover their musical passions while building lasting friendships through ensemble participation.
Students may choose fine arts electives including Strings Orchestra. This group will meet every-other day. Students have the opportunity to perform at multiple school-wide concerts and at various competitions within the community to showcase the talent the Lord has blessed them with.
high School Classes & Extracurricular Opportunities
As students reach high school, our instrumental program elevates to a more intensive and professional level, with daily rehearsals and advanced performance standards. Students can choose from elite ensembles like our Symphonic Wind Ensemble and specialized groups such as our celebrated "Gideon's Line" Jazz Band, which hosts the popular annual "Jazz Sweet" performance. These advanced musicians represent our school at prestigious competitions, All-State festivals, and community events, demonstrating the highest levels of musical excellence and Christian character.
Students may choose fine arts electives including our High School Strings Ensemble. This group meets every day. Students have the opportunity to perform at multiple school-wide concerts and at various competitions within the community to showcase the talent the Lord has blessed them with.
